We started Miren’s Colorado Village from a place of both heartbreak and love. My niece, Miren, is autistic and suffers from a rare genetic disorder that affects everything that she does-from walking to talking, to getting dressed and being able to play with friends, everything is a challenge.

For twelve years I’ve watched my twin sister, Jamie, go through hell. It took years to get a diagnosis. It was nearly impossible to get the right medical care. finding high quality respite caregivers who have the background and compassion that it takes to care for children with complex challenges like Miren’s.

Miren’s Colorado Village was created so that people like Jamie never feel like they have to navigate their child’s disability alone. I started this site so that I could help take a load off of my sister. My hope is that together we can create Your Village so that you’re never alone!
