Has anyone had success getting their school to approve more speech therapy?

Hi everyone,

My son is starting first grade this fall. His IEP currently includes 30 minutes of speech therapy each week, but both his private speech therapist and developmental pediatrician believe he would benefit from at least 90 minutes.

The school says he's "making adequate progress," so they don't think additional services are necessary.

Has anyone gone through something similar?

If you were successful, what information or documentation helped? Did you hire an advocate or attorney, or were you able to work it out with the school?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
